Capital District Feminist Studies Conference
Friday, February 21, 2014
1:00PM to 6:00PM
Location: TBD on Siena Campus
This conference is an opportunity for interdicsiplinary dialogue and collaboration among those in the Greater Capital District interested in feminist and gender studies.
This event is open to all in the greater Capital District interested in feminist and gender studies.
Capitalizing on a robust and accomplished concentration of scholars, teachers, and students in and around the Capital District who are interested in feminist and gender studies (broadly conceived), this consortium seeks to create an equal opportunity for interdisciplinary dialogue and collaboration. It is the aspiration of the organizers of this consortium that a wide variety of disciplines contemplated by feminist and gender studies scholars will be represented.
To that end, faculty members seeking to make a formal presentation of scholarship are invited to submit an abstract no longer than 500 words. Chosen participants will have a total of 20 minutes to present their work and for Q&A. Students are invited to submit an abstract of approximately 300 words for a student poster session (students will create posters that will be on display and there will be time set aside for people to check out the posters and discuss them with students).
If interested, please submit your abstract no later than Friday, December 6th, 2013 to Dr. Laurie Naranch at firstname.lastname@example.org. Decisions will be made by Friday, December 20, 2013
