Internship Program 

The School of Business Internship Program provides a field study experience in subject areas covered by the departments of Accounting, Economics, Finance, Management and Marketing. Students can earn credit toward their degree while exploring career opportunities related to their major field of study. Students will work 120 to 150 hours per semester for each 3 credit internship, maintain a field experience journal, and complete a final project or report. Students will also attend scheduled classroom seminars, which will cover topics such as interviewing skills, networking, and professional development. 


A minimum of 45 earned credit hours (including at least 12 credit hours in the Business Core) with a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or above and receive permission of the School of Business internship coordinator. Students wishing to enroll in a summer internship must have completed a minimum of 75 credit hours 

Receiving Academic Credit

Three (3) credits are earned per internship

The maximum number of credits that can be earned is six (6) for two separate internships

Two separate internships cannot be taken concurrently

Internships can only be taken within the term for which a student is registered

Internships can be taken for credit during the fall, spring and summer semesters

Internship credit will count as business elective credit and is not used to fulfill major requirements
