Civic Engagement Camp

The ACE Civic Engagement Camp invites high school students to become engaged citizens while embarking on a week long learning adventure, increasing their knowledge about leadership and social justice while doing hands-on service projects in the community. Sessions run July 8 through August 2, 2013 and participants can register for one, two, or three weeks. Students are involved in the following projects:

In this project students will be working directly with an urban summer camp creating activities, working with the children and building programs that this camp will be able to use for years to come.

What are the effects of urban living on the environment and on the health of urban communities? What is being done to combat these problems? In this project students will get involved with many of the interesting projects and programs currently being implemented in Albany to help our environment and improve the quality of life in urban areas.

Getting involved with a social justice issue is only the first step, it is important to get the word out! In this project students will be part of creating awareness through media... Create radio PSAs, develop a social media campaign, create a mini-video documentary. Our community partners are waiting for the help of talented and gifted students!

Tuition for each one week session is $275. Siena College faculty, staff, and administrators are eligible for a 15% discount.
