    October 2012

    • Alzheimer's Walk

      We raised $70 in funds for the Alzheimer's Organization and walked to raise awareness and support. Alzheimer's Organization helps raise funds and awareness across the country for the millions suffering with Alzheimer's and taking care of Alzheimer's patients

    September 2012

    • Apple Picking for the Regional Food Bank of Northeastern New York

      We had a group of students who went to Bowman Orchards and picked two bushels of apples, of all different kinds. These are then brought over to Regional Food Bank of Northeastern New York which distributes the food to their agencies (over 1,000 agencies in all).

    March 2012

    • Community Service Day:

      We assisted at a local Catholic Charities office and helped with outside work such as raking, cleaning up their garden, trimming the bushes, etc.

    December 2011:

    • Homeless Walk

      We assisted the church in getting the resources together (flyers, ballons, tables etc) and with the food and setting preparation for the walkers and homeless. We also were able to interact with many people and hear their stories.

    • Giving Tree Presents

      We adopted 3 people off of the tree and purchased the various gifts for them. We wrapped and addressed the gifts so these individuals in need could have something to open on Christmas day

    November 2011:

    • Hurricane Irene Relief - Schoharie County, NY
    • We traveled to Schoharie County with members of Grace Fellowship Church of Latham to help serve the community there in continued relief efforts from the devastation that hit the area in late August by Hurricane Irene.

    • Thanksgiving Basket

      We purchased and assembled a basket of food for a thanksgiving meal to go to services in the capital region who distribute them to families in need.

    • Setting up the Giving Tree

      Volunteer Ministry Club members setup the Trees for giving in Sarazen Student Union and in Foy Hall on behalf of the Franciscan Center for Service and Advocacy for the Giving Tree project.

    October 2011:

    • Community Service Day: Interfaith Partnership for the Homeless

      We served the IPH by cleaning and raking all of their primary and surrounding properties and we stained one of their fences. We had a great time working with the people of IPH.

    • Halloween Extravaganza

      We spent the day working with young children from the area doing arts and crafts and having a safe and fun Halloween. This year we did "stoned pumpkins" where we work with the kids to paint stones into different looking "pumpkins", a different version of "pumpkin carving".
