Albany Devils Sales Project Spring 2013
Sales Management (MRKT-326)
Devil Dawg Gives Siena Students Thumbs Up for Ticket Sales!
In order to apply the selling skills learned in the classroom, twenty-one Siena Sales Management (MRKT 326) students beat their class goal of 350 by selling 407 tickets to the April 19 Albany Devils hockey game at the Times Union center. A class project designed to deepen the students' understanding of sales concepts through practical application, students created sales strategies, identified target markets, developed marketing pieces, promoted the event, sold tickets and presented their results. Supplementing this high impact learning experience was the advice of Albany Devils VP of Marketing and Sales Chris Valente, and the CEO Chris Ciceri who came into class to offer students wisdom on how to become great salespeople! Ciceri says, “We are thrilled with the success the Albany Devils and Siena College have shared during Professor Semmes' Marketing project. Working with such a distinct higher-education program has been an honor and a privilege. We certainly look forward to continuing our relationship for many semesters to come.”
