ACE Community Corps Requirements

As a part of Community Corps, there are requirements that you must meet. Please read the requirements below and keep this copy for your records.

To be considered, you must meet the following requirements:

  1. You must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident
  2. 17 years or older
  3. Complete AmeriCorps Orientation

During the program, you must commit to the following:

  1. 5 hours per week at a qualified ACE Community Corps Partner
  2. Summer internship at eligible AmeriCorps site, one summer at home & one summer at Siena (35
  3. hours/week for 6 weeks)
  4. Complete Community Learning Agreements (every semester)
  5. Log Hours Daily
  6. Sign Hours Monthly
  7. Complete Service Accomplishments (every semester)
  8. Attending two 2 hour meetings on the first and third Tuesday of every month during Academic
  9. Year (this may be different if there are 5 Tuesdays in that month)
  10. Exit Interview
  11. Any additional meetings as requested by ACE
  12. Final presentation of learning
  13. Complete two 300 hour terms of service

What you get for participating in AmeriCorps:

  1. $1,175.00 in a Segal AmeriCorps Education Award
  2. Becoming a part of a National Movement
  3. Many grad school application fee waivers
  4. An opportunity to build your resume

What to do before you can be considered:

  1. Submit a completed AmeriCorps Application with the following documents:
    a. Government Issued Photo ID (permit, license, passport, etc.) that is not expired
    b. Birth Certificate
    c. Social Security Card (signed)
    d. Passport (if you have one)
  2. Submit a description of your intended partner site—this has been done for you already since you are in the mentoring program 
  3. Siign up for COMD 280 for zero credit
