Council for Teaching and Learning

William B. Spendiff '52 Center for Teaching and Learning

Council Mission:

The Council for Teaching and Learning (CTL) draws upon the strengths of Siena College committees, organizations, and centers charged with faculty development. The CTL brings together relevant campus organizations devoted to integrating faculty development and student learning. These organizations include: the Library, the Diversity Action Committee (DAC), the Center for Academic Community Engagement (ACE), the Center for Undergraduate Research and Creative Activity (CURCA), Information Technology Services (ITS), the Committee on Teaching and Faculty Development (COTFD), and the Student Learning Assessment Committee (SLAC).

The Council will enhance communication across campus entities committed to faculty development and student learning, as well as between faculty level work and the upper administration. It will coordinate and facilitate valuable programs pertinent to faculty development. The CTL will maintain continuity of effort by providing regular and continual programs to help faculty members further refine their teaching and scholarship and help them teach more efficiently.
